A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION

MINDFUL DEVELOPMENT

a fusion of mindful modalities and professional development

VISION

Mindful Development is designed to provide meaningful professional development opportunities that integrate holistic leadership, mindful modalities, and promote social emotional health of individuals and organizations.

Major organizational systems are suffering from burnout, lack of community and purpose, subsequently negatively impacting physical and emotional health. For organizations to be successful and healthy, the individuals comprising them also need to be. There needs to be more of a focus and investment in the mental, physical and emotional health of its individuals.

Mindful Development is a completely unique program and vision integrating holistic wellness into professional settings. Each session is uniquely designed to fulfill the needs and intentions of those attending. Mindful Development aims to “reframe” what professional development looks like and who it serves.

Our vision is to continue to expand, diversify and reach as many professionals as possible to help those they serve.

“A MAGICAL CO-CREATED SPACE”

“This PD was so much more than I expected and I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you for all of the personal touches (gifts, lotions, releasing of the balloon doves and much more)! It was such a wonderful experience especially during 2020 when we all need to take some time to relax! Thank you for being so amazing.”

S. Cavanagh. Grade 6 Social Studies

A. Schliecher speech language pathologist

“These events are very enjoyable for me. I like how you run them and your personal touch. You make it a point to talk to everyone and not make them feel that you’re rushed (even though your mind is probably thinking of all the details). It’s the little details and thoughtful actions that I like most. We can do yoga anywhere. We can all read a book on mindfulness. It’s how you put it all together, how you explain everything, and how you put yourself in it. We get to hear how it helped your life, as well. I also love the little gifts that I can actually use”

More Information about

PROFESSIONAL WELLNESS:

REstoring the spirit at sunset

Now that Mindful Development has transformed to a nonprofit organization, our hope is to
gain sponsorship to fully fund this year’s experience to provide our most influential
professionals, our teachers, the space and self-care they so desperately need. With
adequate sponsorship, we hope to attract and involve more RI districts promoting more
inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity. Educators may also use the hours to re-certify in
the State of Rhode Island, if approved by district.

The vision for this year will be Professional Wellness, not just talking about it and providing
information, but actually providing participants with a hands on, integrative experience
with real resources they can bring into the classroom. This three hour experiential
workshop is divided into three aspects that encapsulate our wellness:

I. BODY: TRUST YOUR INTUITION: Prioritize your physical wellness with a blindfold and
restorative yoga experience. This is all about tuning into the environment and yourself,
trusting your intuition which is paramount to your professional training. This workshop also
offers Wellness Juice Shots from fellow teacher, Cathy Adams Family Farm, Herbal Tea,
Yogurt Parfaits, + Fruit Infused Water.

II. MIND: REFLECT ON YOUR PRACTICE: Reflection is the key to growth. Often we “get lost”
in our professional lives. We let the bitterness, toxicity, and negative take over. We will be
taking the time to do hands on activities that practice gratitude and return you to your
purpose, your why that you can bring back into the workplace for a fresh perspective.

III. SPIRIT: RECEIVE WHAT YOU NEED: Relax and realign with Reiki energy healing and
sound. Nurture and integrate yourself from the inside out featuring a Special Guest to add
yet another dimension of healing and perspective. We all will takeaway something
different. It is about immediate change, but integrative change that shifts who we are into
better versions of ourselves in all faculties of life. Feel appreciated, celebrated, and truly
taken care of.

We each have responded to a calling; a calling to serve others, to educate those around us, to delve deeper into our passions, and to learn from one another. Despite the differences of our disciplines, districts, and levels of experience, it is time to come together as a united force to truly revolutionize the education system for the better. We each possess the potential to rewrite the present narrative. It is time to call forth a new kind of leader living inside each one of us.

We need to not only embrace the power within ourselves, but empower others to do the same. It is far too easy to think about change, we must follow it with our footsteps. It is time to transition from our thoughts of what we wish to be, to present day actions of what is possible. It is time to touch the lives of others, to walk the path with conscious choice, commitment and purpose. It is time to behold both the sole responsibility and the soul responsibility to work for the world, to trust and expand our training as educators, and contribute in a way that uplifts humanity- to be part of what can be, what should be- a transformation towards hope, a movement of Love.
